Welcome from ISES Indiana New President

Welcome to a new year with ISES Indiana! This month your new Board took office and we are ready to serve the membership by offering exciting programs, a top notch educational conference and showcasing trend setting ideas through the PACE Awards and Business Brilliance.

One thing I have learned in my years of ISES membership is that you get what you put into your membership. There is no better way to network with your peers and stay on top of our industry than with this organization. And the best way to utilize your membership is to get involved – join a committee or volunteer at one of our events. If you are interested in becoming more involved, please email me (ekstro@yahoo.com). We are always looking for fresh new ideas!

Sincerely,

Kari Strolberg, CSEP
President, ISES Indian

July Meeting Recap

The July ISES meeting gave all who attended an opportunity to learn
how to better communicate with executives. Jean Palmer Heck,
president of Real-Impact Inc., and Lisa Bell, president of Global
Connections gave examples on breaking down your information into
manageable pieces, designed to fit into an executive's fast paced
lifestyle and thereby giving you the upper hand in landing these
accounts.

Also, the new ISES Indiana Board was sworn in.

Thank you to all of our sponsors for the July meeting.

Tip of the Month

Everyone loves the traditional mojito for that great summer cocktail, well
why not change it up and make it blueberry! Dine Magazine recently
published the recipe below that has been a smash hit...

3-4 fresh mint leave, plus more for garnish
2-3 tablespoons simple syrup
3 lime wedges, peeled
3 ounces blueberry vodka (Stoli Bluberri recommended) Soda, to taste
Blueberries, to garnish

1) In the base of a martini shaker, muddle the mint leaves, simple syrup and
lime wedges until well combined
2) Add the blueberry vodka and a few ice cubes. Shake and strain into a
tall cocktail glass over ice.
3) Top with soda and serve garnish with a few mint leaves and some
blueberries

Perfect for a hot August day!
