ISES Indiana December Meeting

ISES Indiana and MPI Indiana Chapter Present:

Master Sommelier, Tyler Field will provide professional insight as to the proper way to taste a wine, how to pair food and wine, and how to tell you've made the best match.

Attendees will have the opportunity to taste four different wines (take the afternoon off!) during this exciting meeting!

Please bring a new, unwrapped toy or cash donation for Toys for Tots.

About Tyler Field:
Tylor Field III, Vice President of Wine and Spirits, Morton’s Restaurant Group, Inc., received the highest honor from the Guild of Sommeliers Education Foundation – the Distinguished Service Award for outstanding contributions to Morton’s wine programs, and to the wine service industry. The foundation recently honored Field for his many contributions to wine service, wine education, and for his leadership in creating new innovative programs to enhance Morton’s staff knowledge and wine service, as well as wine sales at the 80 Morton’s The Steakhouse restaurants.

Tylor Field is just the eighth person in the world to receive this most prestigious award. The foundation is the not-for-profit group of the Court of Master Sommeliers that provides educational programs for wine service professionals and helps them achieve their goal of becoming Master Sommeliers. As vice president of Wine and Spirits, Field oversees all purchasing, marketing, training and development of wine, spirits and beverage programs for Morton’s, the world’s largest operator of company-owned upscale steakhouses.

Event Highlights

“Red Hot Ideas” Education Conference—Those of you who skipped out on this one missed a great day of amazing speakers with interesting topics that relate to the world of events and ISES. Topics such as planning events on a whim for political campaigns to taking the IRL on the road brought a new perspective to events we do not see everyday. We also had an array of event design ideas by Gene Huddleson, and up and coming linens by BBJ Linens. A big thank you to Kari Strolberg and her planning team, along with the Horizon Convention Center, who pulled off the day!

“Jingle Mingle” Membership Drive—Networking, Recruiting, and Cocktails………..what else can you ask for! ISES Indiana sponsored a cocktail membership drive on December 3rd at 300 East. We are very grateful to have such a hard-working Membership Committee that put together a great group of sponsors to create such an enjoyable night. Those guests that were able to join us for the evening, we hope you were able to see the benefits that ISES and its relationship have to offer you and your organization. The Scoop

• On December 1, 2008 General Hotels Corporation annouced it's completion of its $10.5 million dollar renovation and conversion of the Holiday Inn Select Indianapolis Airport hotel to the Crowne Plaza hotel. The Crowne Plaza is located near the new Indianapolis International Airport and features an indoor pool, unique meeting spaces, fitness center, business center, and new restaurant, lounge, and coffee shop.
