Spotlight
Dennis
Ashley, D Ashley Design+Events
What
does your company do?
D Ashley Design+Events is your all-encompassing event production
solution. Our mission is to create exceptional events that capture
your vision and inspire your audience. We apply branding strategies
and principles from the commercial world to create a breakthrough
event. Our goal is to harness the power of visual identity and
verbal identity to build your company’s brand into the
event. Our approach to event design encompasses fusing art and
creative direction to create stunning events that entice the
senses. We pride ourselves on providing full and partial event
services, ranging from event design & layout to exquisite
florals with a keen eye for detail and a creative vigor. At D
Ashley Design+Events we harness these strengths to create and
deliver the imaginable to event reality.
How
is it different than others like it?
“Our service” and ability to “exceed our client’s expectations” is
one element that may separate us from our competitors. Our hospitable service
has a foundation that is focused on the relationship we nurture with our clients.
What
is your most memorable event?
ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition:
The Cowan/Brown Family Episode (to air January 10th, 2010).
My company produced, designed and managed all events (outside
of building the home) for the builder: Hallmark Homes;
including the following: VIP Tent, Catering Tent, Spectator
Zones and Tents, Catering and Event Programming, The Wrap
Party for Cast/Production Crew and Hallmark, and The Airing
Party with featured guest’s the Cowan/Brown family.
Overall, I managed over 1000 volunteers that served over
5000 construction/volunteer workers in a period of 6 days.
Why?
The opportunity to transform the lives of
family.
What
was your very first job?
My mother was born and raised in Texas, and at a young age she
had to work in agriculture fields. When I turned 12 years of
age, I went to work for an agriculture company that detasseled
corn. To date, still the hardest job I ever had.
What
is your favorite restaurant?
Ed Debevic’s, Chicago, IL. If you get the chance to experience
their signature “RUDE” service, it will be one that
you’ll never forget, and the food isn’t that bad
either.
If
you were not in the event industry, what would be
your dream job?
Professional Athlete: PGA, NFL, or the NBA: any would suffice.
