Doin' the Decade
The Community Outreach Committee is proud to announce our next project. We will be working with School on Wheels to create their first annual “Doin’ The Decade” party on April 26th. This 60’s theme party will feature a raffle, fun and entertainment from 1964…The Tribute (said to be the #1 Beatles Show in the World).

School on Wheels is a new nonprofit organization in Indianapolis dedicated to the enhancement of educational opportunities for homeless children by tutoring them in shelters, providing them with necessary school supplies, and organizing summer programs.

ISES Indiana is helping with the overall planning of the event and finding vendors who are willing to contribute to the cause. The committee is also looking for volunteers to help Saturday, April 26th with set-up and then on-site. If you are interested please contact Kari Strolberg at ekstro@yahoo.com or (317)356-9617.

Board Member Profile
Kyle Buckley: Vice President of Programs

Hello my fellow ISES members. For those of you I have not had the pleasure of meeting, I am Kyle Buckley, Vice President of Programs for the ISES Indiana Chapter and Vice President of Hoaglin Fine Catering. I found my professional niche when I landed in the event industry about 7 years ago when I joined the team at Hoaglin. And although sometimes I think I must be nuts, I love my career choice!

Indianapolis has been a challenging, yet exciting market for the event industry and we at Hoaglin truly appreciate our relationships with other event professionals and the opportunities they afford our company.

Hoaglin Fine Catering and its entities – American Pie Catering and Hoaglin To Go – are incredibly dynamic companies. We pride ourselves on not being stagnant. We know that this quality along with our impeccable client service and our irresistibly delicious cuisine is a huge part of our success. Between the three companies we can accommodate any client’s needs. They service dinner for two from our gourmet carry-out deli at 49th & Pennsylvania, 10 to 1000 cost effectively priced hearty box lunches from American Pie or an elegant fine dining affair for 20 to 2000 with Hoaglin Fine Catering.

My position as Vice President of Hoaglin, Inc. constantly challenges me to grow professionally and personally. I work daily with all the department managers on issues regarding financial, personnel and policy decisions. I also perform the company marketing functions, seek and generate new business, maintain our vendor relations, provide community involvement for the company and head up “special and challenging” events and projects.

Outside of Hoaglin I have experienced great self-satisfaction from my volunteer efforts surrounding the industry. Serving as Design Chair for the Damien Center’s Grande Masquerade, Design Chair for the Alphabet Affair for Indy Reads, involvement with ISES Pace Awards committees, my term on the Board for ISES along with other community involvement have been incredibly personally fulfilling. The relationships I have built with the individuals with whom I have come in contact are truly rewarding.

My term on the Board of Directors ends this June 2003. I have tried to introduce our members to unique facilities. It has been a great deal of fun and I very much appreciate the opportunity to have held this position. My favorite places to have taken you during my tenure – Stutz Center, Jillian’s, St. Elmo, Lotus, Rathskellar, Strategy Studio, Club Industry, Scholar’s Inn, the Marott, Nashville (horseback riding!), Peter’s – oops!!! that’s all of them! Oh well, like I said…it’s been a blast! See you at the next meeting!
