December
Meeting Recap
The
White House Chef
Speaker: Walter Scheib
Walter
S. Scheib, who was the executive chef for both the Clinton
administration and the Bush administration was the guest
speaker at the Joint ISES/MPI meeting in December.
Scheib
had a cooking stage set up and demonstrated how to prepare
some of the food that he coordinated with the Hilton Downtown
that was served at the luncheon.
He
also talked about the challenges of appealing to varied
tastes during his years with the Clintons and later the
Bush family. Chelsea Clinton was a vegetarian, so he had
to adjust her meals accordingly. The Bush twin daughters
kept them 'hopping' with some favorite Tex-Mex dishes they
liked.
A
question/answer followed the hugely-attended event.
