Commit to your profession
Separate yourself from the competition

Provide proof of your expertise

What is Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP)?
The CSEP designation is the hallmark of professional achievement in the special events industry. It is earned through education, performance, experience, and service to the industry, and reflects a commitment to professional conduct and ethics.

The CSEP designation is awarded by the International Special Events Society (ISES) and its Certification Committee. ISES is the only international umbrella organization representing professionals in all disciplines of the special events industry. Education and a commitment to professionalism are cornerstones of ISES.

Why Should I Be Certified?
The special events industry has experienced phenomenal growth over the past several years and is changing at an even faster pace. Today, special events are more challenging and require a level of professionalism equal to none. Become a recipient of the CSEP designation and set yourself apart from the competition.

INTERNATIONAL SPECIAL EVENTS SOCIETY GOES “NEW” HOLLYWOOD!
ISES EVENTWORLD® 2005

Hooray for Hollywood isn’t just a cliché, it’s the excitement of ISES Eventworld® 2005 – A Conference for Professional Development, heading to the West Coast from August 11th through the 13th for its annual conference at the glamorous Renaissance Hollywood Hotel spotlighting the theme “The Business of Service”. Serving as Executive Producer is Brenda Schwerin, CSEP of Los Angeles, CA who says: “The 2005 ISES Eventworld conference is produced by ISES members and designed for event professionals about “The Business of Service” in special events.”
Hot topic educational sessions with a Hollywood twist will peak your knowledge for the novice or experienced along with incredible evening command performances capped off by the Esprit Awards, being held in the Grand Ballroom of the Renaissance Hotel where the Academy Award’s Governor’s Ball is held each year. According to Esprit Producer/Designer, Timot McGonagle of Nashville, TN – “We honor our origins as we project ourselves into the future with "BLANC ET NOIR – The New Hollywood Black and White” - unusual kaleidoscope footage as the icon of the event which captures ‘The New Hollywood’ with the class of ‘Vintage Hollywood’ for a night of glamour, surprises and a wonderful new experience.”

To make Renaissance Hollywood Hotel reservations call (800) 468-3571 and mention ISES. Call for Entries are available on www.ises.com with entry deadline May 2nd. Conference registration goes online April 1, 2005.

Board Member Spotlight

Iris Dillon
Business Brilliance Director

The Madame Walker Theatre hired Dillon in 1993, which first introduced her to special events. She left the Walker in 1998 and joined the Indianapolis Art Center as Director of Special Events. The Indianapolis Art Center has given her the opportunity to broaden her expertise, facilitating events such as the Rhythms on the Riverfront concert series, held on the grounds of the Art Center at the south bank of the White River. She has also created new events such as the “Picture This Event Showcase,” an event which allowed guests to experience the uniqueness the Art Center facilities offer for corporate and private events, both inside and outdoors. Dillon’s love and enthusiasm for her work recently led her to appointment as Director of the Broad Ripple Art Fair, one of the Midwest’s premier art events, which showcases more than 275 artists, hosts four stages of live entertainment, and welcomes more than 25,000 visitors each May.

Community Outreach

The organization has been chosen and now the planning has begun. The event that ISES Indiana has decided to assist in planning for the Muscular Dystrophy Family Foundation will be a scavenger hunt through-out downtown Indy, ending with a party at the Mavris Cultural Center. There has been an overwhelming response from ISES members requesting to help in our efforts. Terry Rake, Lori Fields, Rebecca Moreland and John Mavris are leading the planning team.

Vendors who have already come aboard include the Mavris Cultural Center who has donated space for the after party. Party Time Rentals has agreed to completely donate all rentals. Terry Rake has secured the Fabulous Thunderbirds to donate their talents for the evening’s entertainment. The prizes for the Scavenger hunt are through the roof and will be announced at a later date.

If you are interested in helping in our efforts or have any questions please contact Kyle Buckley at kyle.buckley@hoaglinfinecatering.com.
