Spotlight
Mike
Wiggins, A Classic Party Rental
What does your company do? How is it different than others
like it?
A Classic Party Rental is a full service rental house.
We pride ourselves on quality equipment, a high level of
customer service, an experienced service team, and a sales
staff second to none.
How
many years have you been in the industry?
Twenty years
Where
is your favorite place to travel?
South Carolina
What led you into the event industry?
Fate I guess…I studied sales & marketing but
never thought I would be doing this for a living. It is
never boring, always new challenges, and I really enjoy
doing what I do.
What was your very first job?
I was a sales rep for a clothing line in New York
Is there a specific person who guided you to your career
path or has inspired you to work as you do today?
I would not say someone guided me to be in this industry
but my work ethic comes from my Dad. I don’t mind
working as I know the harder you work the better things
are. I have to take care of my clients!
Why did you decide to join ISES? What do you hope to get
out of it?
I joined ISES because I knew that if I wanted to succeed
in this industry that I would have to surround myself with
the people that make it happen in Indianapolis. I have
met so many friends from ISES and the education and friendships
will last a lifetime.
What is your most memorable event? Why?
A large wedding I did with a good friend a few years back.
The client was so nice and they just wanted the event
to be perfect. Huge air conditioned tents, chaivari chairs,
monogrammed dancefloors, just unbelievable. It was an
honor to be apart of that event and always a pleasure
working for that friend.
What is your favorite restaurant?
Anywhere that has atmosphere. I like to eat in restaurants
in the bar area, that is where the atmosphere is. They
stick you in the main dining room and you feel like cattle.
Boring white tablecloths and sitting right on top of
the person next to you. I heard good things about Bonges
in Perkinsville....and will try it out soon.
If you were not in the event industry, what would be your
dream job?
Sports Agent or PGA Tour Player….anything sports
related.
