The
Art of Tabletops and The Art of The Party
Join
us as our very own Gene Huddleson of Detail + Design
provides an overview of events as an art form,
including tabletop design, lighting, floral and
coordination of entertainment. Gene will discuss
and demonstrate how an extraordinary event should
flow, from theme conception to completion. He will
explain why we need to look at each event in its
entirety instead of piecing it together.
Then
take a casual walk through the Harrison Center
for the Arts and view some wonderful work by local
artists. Many of these artists will be on hand
in their studios to answer questions and discuss
their work.
Wine & hors
d’oeuvres will be provided by Hoaglin Fine
Catering.
You
won’t want to miss this meeting - it is a
great opportunity to hear from one of our own members
who has received numerous PACE, Esprit, and Gala
Awards for his events, as well as to see the work
of and interact with some of Indy’s local
artists! Mark your calendar and join us.

Board
Member Profile
Jason Felders, Business Brillance Director
Jason, originally
from St. Louis, Mo., moved to Indianapolis to attend
Butler University, where he earned his Bachelor
of Arts, Music (Voice Concentration) degree. Soon after
graduation he decided that the music business was not
for him and began working in the box office at Beef and
Boards
Dinner Theater. One year later he was hired part-time
at the Indiana Historical Society as the Special Events
Assistant.
In the short three years that he has been with the Historical
Society he has moved from the part-time assistant to
the full time Special Events Manager.
As
a new ISES
member Jason is thrilled to be heading up Business
Brilliance 2004.
"I
never thought that offering my building as the location
for Business Brilliance
would automatically make me planning the event," he
said. "It has been a bit overwhelming, but I feel
that my committee and I have come up with some very creative
ideas and we are look forward to raising the bar of this
event and also look forward to showcasing the talent
that we have in our city." In
his spare time, Jason has just launched a new website
for his photography, www.jdfphotos.com.
"This
has always been a dream of mine to show my photography
to as
many people as I can. My website has given me that opportunity
and I love it."
Although
photography is just a hobby for him right now, some
day he hopes that he can make
it a second career.
